Pikes Paws

Home Dog Boarding at Pike's Paws

We have always had dogs around our home and as these dogs have been so special to us we know how important it is to be able to be comfortable in leaving your pooch when you have to travel or go off to work without them. Over the past 30 years our dogs have all come from rescue homes and we have given homes to a mixture of older dogs who are difficult to home and younger troubled dogs. We are licenced and inspected by East Suffolk Council, reference number 22/0007/AW18LI and at our most recent inspection we were very pleased to have our 5* rating renewed, one of the first in the county to be awarded 5* at consecutive inspections  under the DEFRA Animal Welfare Regulations (2018).

We love all dogs and here at Pike’s Paws we offer a caring family home environment to small and medium sized dogs, including puppies by special arrangement. They must be house trained and have their vaccinations up to date before arriving with us please. Eddie our black lab and Maitre D' along with Tommy our latest addition will be on hand if your dog has any worries and we will make sure that there are plenty of cuddles and as much exercise as your dog wants in our own 3 acres organic small-holding. Within our small-holding we have a play paddock which is securely fenced to allow your dog space to run around as they please.

Pike's Paws was inspired by our old dog Maisie, who is still with us in our photos, as we could leave her (or Eddie and Tommy) in kennels we understand how important it is that your dog feels safe and warm in our home. We have a lovely old Aga, just right for snoozing in front of and plenty of space to wander about outside.

We don’t have concrete runs or outside kennels as we love to share our home with the dogs that come to stay. We like to offer a very personal service and would welcome the chance to meet your dog and you in advance of their stay and we will invite you and your dog round for an initial visit, to ensure that what we provide meets the needs of your dog. After the initial visit we ask that all dogs spend a taster day and then a taster overnight (at usual rates) with us to ensure that they are happy and relaxed in our home before we confirm any substantive bookings. Once we have discussed your dog’s specific needs we will keep detailed records and keep to a routine that you are both comfortable with. Please do bring along your own dog food, blankets and bed and this way we can really make it a home from home. For peace of mind we work closely with Wangford Veterinary Clinic and their team provide emergency cover for us 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
